Help Logan-Magnolia Community Schools Compete for a grant of up to $25,000

The deadline for farmer nominations is April 1, 2015.

America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, gives rural public school districts the opportunity to compete for a grant of up to $25,000 to help fund science and math programs. Eligible farmers can nominate local public school districts for a grant. Please ask all of the local farmers you know to nominate our school today!

For the fourth consecutive year, America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education will award $2.3 million to enhance math and science education in rural communities in 2015. Grant applications will be judged based on the merit of the application, need and community support. Community support is affected by the number of farmers we have nominate our school district and this can strengthen our application.

If the Logan-Magnolia Community School District wins, we plan on using our grant money to develop a wet-land area behind the school; thus expanding our science curriculum by adding an outdoor classroom. But first, we have to be nominated. We only need one nomination to start the grant application process. However, the more nominations we receive the better our chances are of receiving the $25,000 grant. The deadline for farmer nominations is April 1, 2015. So start spreading the word about this important opportunity today!
