Covid-19 School Protocols

Lo-Ma Parents, Students, and Staff,

Our goal for this year is to have students and staff return to school safely and stay in school for as long as possible. Lo-Ma CSD has consistently followed guidance from the Harrison County Public Health Department to do this.

On July 17, 2020, we met with Harrison County Public Health, local health officials, and other Harrison County Superintendents to listen to the newest guidance and worked to have a united response. After the meeting, we developed the attached Covid-19 Protocols. One protocol that we know is controversial is the use of facemasks. Logan-Magnolia Community Schools will be requiring the use of facemasks by all students and staff while indoors. Three reusable masks will be purchased by the district for each student and staff member. Frequent outdoor breaks will occur throughout the day to provide a break from the masks. Our decisions were not made lightly. However, if there is a chance that wearing masks, along with social distancing and frequent handwashing helps students and staff stay healthy which helps the school stay open, it is something we must require.

Please read through all of the protocols and if you have any questions, please contact your building principal or Mr. Ridder.

Welcome back to school!
