About Our Community

The Logan-Magnolia Community School District is located in Logan, Iowa only 35 minutes from the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area. The district is comprised of one physical location serving approximately 670 students in Pre-K through 12th grade and employs 120 regular staff (60 certified). Excellence is part of the culture in the LoMa schools and the communities we serve. On our most recent state assessments, our students achieved the highest academic proficiency scores in Harrison County. Additionally, our great students are great athletes, artists, and performers, regularly representing our community well at postseason tournaments and other state-level contests. Our school is in an exciting period of growth and change, taking full advantage of local, state, and federal funding opportunities to make the most of our resources. In 2022, our community stepped up to pass an $8.8 million bond issue for the construction of a new gymnasium and classroom additions and renovations. State grant funds are allowing us to continue improving the safety and security of our physical structure, and we are a participant in the EPA's Clean School Bus Program, having been awarded nearly $2 million (more than any other Iowa school district) to transition our route buses to fully electric models by the end of the 2023-2024 school year. We are proud of our students and their dedicated teachers, coaches, and families for helping us maintain our commitment to excellence!
