The Logan-Magnolia School District is incredibly proud to participate in a special Military Appreciation Night hosted by Missouri Valley Community Schools prior to the football game on Friday, September 4. During the pregame ceremony, we will honor local veterans, active-duty military personnel, and family members of deployed service members from the Missouri Valley, Logan-Magnolia, and West Harrison Community School Districts bringing together members of all three communities to carry a large American flag—generously donated by WoodmenLife—during the playing of the National Anthem.
We encourage all students and families of Logan-Magnolia Schools to join us in celebrating and honoring our local service members. Your presence will help make this a truly unforgettable tribute to their sacrifice and dedication.
“It is a great privilege for our communities to unite in showing our gratitude for the commitment and sacrifices of our local service members and their families,” shared Lo-Ma Superintendent Jacob Hedger.
If you are a veteran, an active-duty service member, or a family member of deployed personnel and would like to represent the Lo-Ma community in this ceremony, please reach out to our Athletic Director Levi Ettleman via email at lettelman@lomaschools.org or call 712-644-2250 by August 21, 2026.
A brief practice will be held for all participants to provide instructions for properly unfolding and folding the large flag that night starting at 5:30 PM at the Missouri Valley Community Schools football field.
(If you have friends or family in the neighboring districts who would like to participate, they can reach out to Missouri Valley’s Megan West at mwest@movalleycsd.org / (712) 642-2706 ext. 1 or West Harrison’s Troy Maasen at tmaasen@w-harrison.k12.ia.us / (712) 646-2231).
